Mount Engineering Plc (AIM:MOU), the manufacturer and supplier of certified explosion proof fittings and supplier of valves and actuators, predominantly to the oil and gas industry, today is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor James Roach as Non-executive Director.  

Professor James Patrick Alun Roach (age 59) is Dean of The School of Design Engineering and Computing, Bournemouth University and is responsible for leading the academic direction and managing the finances of the School.

Prior to being appointed Dean, Professor Roach was Head of Enterprise in School of Design Engineering and Computing and Director of University Knowledge Transfer Programme with direct responsibility for liaison with industry and managed the European and DTI funded Technology Transfer Centre for a period of four years. Professor Roach is a retained consultant and Board advisor to several industrial companies. In 2000 he was awarded a National Business Fellowship by Higher education Funding Council of England.

Professor Roach holds membership of the following Professional Bodies:                                 
Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology: Chartered Engineer: Member of the Institute of Directors and a Fellow Royal Society for the Arts.
