Refrigeration Gas

Norish currently uses R22 refrigeration gas at 3 of its cold stores. R22 is a Hydrochlorofluorcarbon (HCFC) which is classed as an ozone depleting gas and with effect from 1^st January 2010 it will no longer be possible to purchase virgin R22. The use of re-cycled R22 is still permitted until 31^st December 2014.

Norish is pleased to announce that it has an option to purchase 50,000 kg at £4.05kg. Norish intends to account for this gas as a financial derivative under IAS39.
