TANJONG PUBLIC LIMITED COMPANY ("Tanjong" or "the Company")

-           New UK Listing Regime

1.         Tanjong wishes to announce that, with effect from 6 April 2010, the listing of Tanjong's ordinary shares on the London Stock Exchange will be designated as a Standard Listing. 

2.         Background 

Investors and shareholders may be aware that with effect from 6 April 2010, the UK Listing Authority ("UKLA") has implemented changes to its Listing Rules ("New Regime"). Under the New Regime, the UKLA is changing its listing categories for all stocks and securities listed on the London Stock Exchange from Primary Listing and Secondary Listing to Premium Listing and Standard Listing respectively. 

As a consequence thereof, with effect from 6 April 2010, Tanjong's ordinary share capital listed on the London Stock Exchange will be designated as a Standard Listing. Prior to 6 April 2010, Tanjong has been treated by the UKLA as an overseas company with a Secondary Listing. Tanjong has a Primary Listing on the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad ("Bursa Securities"). 

The UKLA's new Standard Listing meets European Union minimum standards for listing and requires companies with Standard listed securities to, among others, provide a corporate governance statement and to describe the main features of their internal control and risk management systems.

There are no major changes to the UKLA's Listing Rules that are already applicable to Tanjong arising from the new listing designation or otherwise from the New Regime.
