Letter to Laird Plc

Holdings - LAIRD PLC ("Ordinary") Shares

This letter is in response to your recent request pursuant to Section 793 of the Companies Act 2006 for Fidelity's holdings in LAIRD PLC ("Ordinary") shares (the "Company").  Please be advised that as 06 March 2010, FIL Limited ("FIL"), on behalf of certain of its direct and indirect subsidiaries, held 6,060,773 shares or 2.27% of the issued and outstanding shares of 266,302,206.

The beneficial ownership of the above shares arises in the context of passive investment activities only by the various investment accounts managed by FIL on a discretionary basis (the "FIL Accounts). Neither FIL nor FIL Accounts participate in the management of the Company or direct the policies of the Company.

Disclosures pursuant to Section 793 Companies Act 2006 oblige us to disclose our interest in shares (as defined by Section 820 Companies Act 2006).  This is a wider definition than that under the Disclosure Rules and Transparency Rules (the "DTR").  Therefore disclosures made under Section 793 cannot be directly compared to those made under the DTR.
