DIRECTORS' SHARE INTERESTS
MR P A FLETCHER
Mr  Philip Fletcher, managing director, has today notified the Company  that  he
has  today  transferred 12,500 M.P. Evans shares to each of his  four  children,
transferring in total 50,000 shares. At the time of the announcement,  the  mid-
market price of the shares of M.P. Evans was approximately 348p per share.

Following  the above transactions, Mr Fletcher's holdings in the shares  of  the
Company are as follows:-

Beneficial:  739,300 shares of 10p each
Non-beneficial:  51,361 shares of 10p each
Options:  632,135 shares of 10p each
