In conformity with the Disclosure and Transparency Rules we would like to notify the market of the following:
 
As at 31 January 2010, Balfour Beatty plc's capital consists of 685,298,492 ordinary shares with voting rights.  No shares are held in Treasury.
 
Therefore, the total number of voting rights in Balfour Beatty plc is 685,298,492.
 
The above figure (685,298,492) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Balfour Beatty plc under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
