Completion of acquisition of certain assets and contracts from RBS Asset Management Limited and RBS Asset Management Holdings (together "RBS")

Aberdeen Asset Management PLC ("Aberdeen") is pleased to announce that it has completed the acquisition of certain assets and contracts from RBS and has entered into the long-term distribution agreement with RBS Wealth Management, as more fully described in the announcement dated 8 January 2010.

Aberdeen has paid consideration of £84.7 million for assets under management of £13.5 billion (as at 30 September 2009), comprising an established, award-winning funds of hedge funds business, a long-only multi-manager business and certain private equity and real estate funds of funds. Management and staff of the Acquired Business will transfer to Aberdeen's offices in mid-February.
