Cable and Wireless plc - Interim Dividend

Pursuant to the above named Company's interim dividend for the year ending 31 March 2010, 19,985,373 Ordinary Shares of 25p each ("the Shares") have been allotted.

Accordingly, application has been made to The UK Listing Authority for the Shares to be admitted to the Official List and to the London Stock Exchange for the Shares to be admitted to trading. It is expected that dealings will commence on 22 January 2010.

The Shares rank equally with the existing issued shares of the Company.
