Mr  P  E  Hadsley-Chaplin, a director of the Company, has today  acquired  7,000
shares at 350 pence per share representing 0.01% of the issued share capital  of
the Company.

Mr  Hadsley-Chaplin's interests in the issued share capital of the  Company  are
now as follows:

Beneficial:  855,865 shares of 10p each
Non-beneficial:  57,237 shares of 10p each
Options:  1,150,000 shares of 10p each


DIRECTORS' SHARE INTERESTS
MR O D WILKINSON
Mr O D Wilkinson, a director of the Company, has today exercised his option over
7,000  shares  of  10p  each granted at 101.78p per share.  These  7,000  shares
(representing  0.01 per cent of the issued share capital of  the  Company)  have
subsequently been sold at 350 pence per share.

Mr  Wilkinson's interests in the issued share capital of the Company are now  as
follows:

Beneficial:  nil
Non-beneficial:  nil
Options:  71,496 shares of 10p each


ISSUED SHARE CAPITAL
The  revised  issued  and  voting  share capital  following  the  aforementioned
exercise of the options is 52,278,315 shares of 10p each.
