DEVELOPMENT SECURITIES PLC APPOINTS NEW 

NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Development Securities PLC, the leading property development and investment company, announced today the appointment of Sarah Bates as a Non-executive Director of the Company, with effect from 15 January 2010.

Sarah (50) has nearly 30 years of investment management experience including as Head of UK Equities, joint Chief Investment Officer, MD of Investment Trusts and CEO of the UK institutional business at INVESCO Asset Management, which she left in 2003. She is a director of St. James's Place plc, Invesco English and International Trust plc, JP Morgan American Investment Trust, New India Investment Trust and Witan Pacific Investment Trust. She is also an adviser to several organisations including the Royal College of Surgeons, East Riding Pension Fund, the Daily Mail and General Trust Pension Schemes and the National Heritage Memorial Fund and is Chairman of the Stena Line (UK) Pension Scheme.
