TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 12 January 2010 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

2,438 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 134.11 pence per share

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 7,161,986 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 494,914,020 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
