Central China Goldfields plc has today been notified by Peter Ruxton, the
Company's Chairman, of his purchase today of 250,000 ordinary shares in the
Company at a price of 2. 75p per share.

Following this purchase, Mr Ruxton's total shareholding in the Company is
267,336 ordinary shares representing approximately 0.15% of the issued share
capital.
