The Company was notified on 5 January 2010 that on 4 January 2010 Mr M C T Prideaux, a person discharging managerial responsibilities, acquired 820 British American Tobacco p.l.c. 25p ordinary shares (the "Shares") following the exercise of options held under the British American Tobacco Sharesave Scheme at an option price of £11.52 per Share.
Following this notification, Mr Prideaux has a total beneficial and family interest in 140,456 Shares (including 34,388 Deferred Shares).
