Hammerson plc ("the Company") announces, in compliance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rules, that the Company's total issued share capital at 1 January 2010 comprises 702,809,926 ordinary shares of 25 pence each with one voting right per share, of which 500,000 shares are held in treasury.

The total number of voting rights in Hammerson plc is therefore 702,309,926, which figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
