TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 31 December 2009 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

12,191 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 134.11 pence per share

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 7,164,424 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 494,911,582 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
