Cattles plc (the "Company") confirms that, following its General Meeting of shareholders held on 16 December 2009, it has conveyed to representatives of the Company's financial creditors the shareholder proposal as referred to in the announcement of 16 December 2009.

Financial creditors (representing a significant value of the Company's external debt) have expressed support for the views of the Directors of the Company, as described in the announcement dated 16 December 2009, that any such petition would likely be detrimental to value and as such would not be in the best interests of any of the Company's stakeholders.

Margaret Young, Executive Chairman, said: "We appreciate the disappointment felt by shareholders but there can be no case for winding up the Company when this would be highly detrimental to the interests of all of our stakeholders."
