CAIRN ENERGY PLC ("Cairn" or "the Company")

Additional Listing

Application has been made for the admission of 2,508,660 new ordinary shares of 8/13 pence each in the Company to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to trading on the London Stock Exchange.

These shares are being reserved under a block listing and will be issued pursuant to the Cairn Energy PLC Replacement Share Option Plan.

These shares will rank pari passu with the Company's existing issued ordinary shares.
