Appointment of Jonathan Davie as non-executive Director

Persimmon plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan Davie as non-executive Director with effect from 1 January 2010.

Jonathan Davie (63) is Chairman of IG Group Holdings Plc, non-executive Director of Portland Gas Plc and Chairman of First Avenue Partners LLP.

John White, Chairman of Persimmon, said "We are delighted to welcome Jonathan to the Board. He has a wealth of experience and expertise, both in the banking industry and as a non-executive director of plcs, which will be of great benefit to Persimmon as we continue to develop our business".

Jonathan's previous roles include Vice Chairman of Credit Suisse, CEO of BZW Global Equities and non-executive Director of Credit Suisse UK Private Bank.
