Appointment of Interim Chief Financial Officer
Dublin, 21 December 2009: Aer Lingus Group plc ("Aer Lingus") announces the appointment of Andrew Macfarlane as Interim Chief Financial Officer. Mr Macfarlane, 53, will join the Group with immediate effect.
Most recently, Mr Macfarlane served as Chief Financial Officer of Rentokil Initial plc and his career has covered the leisure, business services, real estate and accounting sectors. His early career was with Ernst & Young, where he spent 12 years, reaching the position of Corporate Finance Partner in 1987. In addition he has held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Land Securities Group plc and Holiday Inn. Mr Macfarlane is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant and holds an MA in Economics from Selwyn College, Cambridge.
