Dividend Declaration

Alliance Trust PLC announces the declaration of a third interim dividend of
2.025 pence per share payable on 1 February 2010 to shareholders on the
register on 4 January 2010. The ex-dividend date is 30 December 2009.

The dividend is in line with that indicated in our Annual Report and Accounts
for the year ended 31 January 2009.
