Distribution agreement with iTunes
Metrodome Group plc, the AIM listed audiovisual entertainment company, announces the signing of a non-exclusive distribution agreement with iTunes via its wholly owned subsidiary, Metrodome Distribution Limited. The agreement will see new and back catalogue titles become available on the service on a download-to-own and download-to-rent basis, with a revenue share between Metrodome and iTunes.
'Shifty', 'Fifty Dead Men Walking', 'Love the Beast', 'The Other Man', 'Genova' and 'Management' will be some of the first titles available on the service, in a move that will see audiences given greater control of how they wish to access Metrodome's films. This, in turn, will boost revenue streams across the company's catalogue. The on-going deal will see Metrodome's new releases made available on the service, as well as highlights from its back catalogue.
To celebrate its new relationship with Apple and iTunes, Metrodome recently held two UK exclusive Apple in-store appearances at the Regent Street Apple Store. The first was by "Notes On A Scandal" director Sir Richard Eyre, promoting his Metrodome release 'The Other Man' which stars Liam Neeson, Antonio Banderas and Laura Linney. The second appearance was with Hollywood A-lister, Eric Bana, who held an in store Q&A in order to promote his film 'Love the Beast ' which he produced and directed as well as starred in.
These in-store appearances will be the first in a relationship that will see Metrodome continue to deliver more big names, with footage of the events available to download on the iTunes service.
Peter Urie, CEO of Metrodome Group plc, said:
"We are delighted to be working directly with iTunes. We have a rapidly growing, very strong library of high quality films that I am sure will perform well on this prestigious platform. I look forward to both working with, and developing our relationship with iTunes further over the coming months."
