TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARESTRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 11 December 2009 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

10,285 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 161.77 pence per share;

991 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 246.00 pence per share;

558 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 266.00 pence per share; and

15,182 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 293.00 pence per share

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 7,235,978 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 494,840,028 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
