Pilat Media Signs New Contract with Brazil's Globosat
LONDON - Nov. 9, 2009 - Pilat Media Global plc [AIM: PGB], the leading supplier of business management software to the media industry, is pleased to announce the signing of a new contract with Globosat for the licensing, implementation and maintenance of its flagship product, IBMS (Integrated Broadcast Management System). IBMS will manage and integrate content acquisition, program planning, media management and on-demand services for Globosat. The new contract is expected to contribute approximately £1 million in the next financial year, with additional revenues in subsequent years after the system goes live.
Globosat, a Globo Organizations company, is the leading and largest TV programming company in Latin America. Along with its subsidiaries, Globosat currently broadcasts 28 channels to Brazil and two to Africa, Asia, Europe and the United States.
"We are confident that IBMS will fulfill all of our requirements in terms of content and rights management as well as program planning," said Manuel Belmar, CFO of Globosat Programadora Ltda. "After many years of using our own internally developed systems, we believe it is time to adopt a robust and flexible solution to support our growth. In our view, Pilat Media is the right partner to take us to the next level of broadcast innovation. We firmly believe that we have a very good opportunity to develop a long term relationship with Pilat Media."
"We are delighted to have been selected by the leading player in the Brazilian television industry after a lengthy and rigorous evaluation process. This is our first major contract in South America and we hope it will pave the way for continued expansion in this emerging market," said Avi Engel, CEO of Pilat Media. "Globosat will be leveraging the .Net-based IBMS Version 6 to streamline its operations for both linear and on-demand programming as it prepares to bring its viewers the 2014 World Cup, and later the 2016 Olympic Games - both to be broadcast from Brazil."
