Irish Life & Permanent plc appoints new Non Executive Director

Friday 6th November 2009. The Chairman of Irish Life & Permanent plc, Ms. Gillian Bowler, has announced that Mr Pat Ryan will be appointed to the Board as a Non Executive Director of the Group. The appointment will take effect from the next Board meeting of the Group scheduled for the 15th December.

Mr. Ryan, an Actuary, is a former Group Treasurer and Chief Risk Officer with AIB Bank. He retired from AIB Group in 2002.

Speaking today Ms Bowler said that the combination of Treasury, Risk and Actuarial skills that Mr. Ryan possessed were particularly relevant for Irish Life & Permanent Group at this time and his appointment represented an important strengthening of the Board.
