Syndicate was informed on 2 November 2009 by Legal & General Group Plc ("L&G") that with effect from 30 October 2009, L&G was interested in a direct holding of 74,545,715 ordinary shares of 0.2 pence each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares"), representing approximately 4.23% of the issued share capital of the Company.

L&G's total direct and indirect holding was 172,256,840 Ordinary Shares, representing approximately 9.55% of the issued share capital of the Company.
