BRITISH EMPIRE SECURITIES AND GENERAL TRUST PLC

Equities Index Unsecured Loan Stock 2013 ("Equities Index Stock")

British Empire Securities and General Trust plc announces that it has today bought back 59,000 units of its Equities Index Stock for cancellation at a price of 230.0 pence per unit.

Following this purchase, there are 2,506,754 units of the Company's Equities Index Stock remaining in issue.
