Appointment and Resignation of Directors

The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr John Cuthbert as an
independent non-executive director of the Company with effect from 1 November
2009.
Mr Cuthbert is currently Managing Director of Northumbrian Water Group plc, and
has worked in the water industry since 1991. He is also a director of
Northumbrian Water Limited and Northumbrian Water Finance plc. He was formerly
Managing Director of North East Water plc and Managing Director of Essex and
Suffolk Water plc.
There is no other information to be disclosed in accordance with LR 9.6.13
points (1) to (6), and at the date of this notification Mr Cuthbert holds no
shares in the Company.
The Company also wishes to announce that Mr David Perry will retire from the
Board at the conclusion of the AGM to be held on 15 January 2010 after more
than ten years as a non-executive director.
Following Mr Perry's retirement on 15 January 2010, Mr Cuthbert will join the
Board Committee on Executive Directors' Remuneration and the Audit and
Nomination Committees of the Board.
