TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 12.6.4, the Company hereby
notifies you that on 7 October 2009 it transferred for 941 Ordinary shares
held in Treasury to one participant (non-PDMR) to satisfy the early exercise 
of an option under the Hays plc Sharesave Scheme.

Following this transfer, Hays plc holds 81,994,819 Ordinary shares in Treasury.
The number of shares in issue is 1,382,101,747 (excluding treasury shares).
