FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Heywood Williams Group PLC ('the Company') advises that, as required by the FSA's Disclosure Rules and Transparency Rule Sourcebook, it was notified on 6 October 2009 by W H Ireland Limited on behalf of Mr Paul Anthony Bell that following an acquisition of 13,774,777 shares on 5 October 2009, Mr Bell now has a direct interest in 23,049,777 of the voting shares of the Company. As a result Mr Bell's percentage holding crosses the 27% threshold representing 27.2% of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.
