Issue of Equity and Total Voting Rights

Healthcare Locums plc ('the Company') announces that on 30 September 2009 it issued 394,699 new ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company, following the exercise of options by certain employees of the Company. 394,000 options were exercised at a price of 59p per share and 699 options were exercised at a price of 10p per share. 

The new ordinary shares will rank pari passu with existing ordinary shares in the Company and application will be made for these new ordinary shares to be admitted to trading on AIM, which is expected to occur on 6 October 2009. 

Total Voting Rights 

As a consequence of the exercise of share options as detailed above, the Company's issued capital now comprises 104,667,601 ordinary shares of 10p each. There are no ordinary shares held in Treasury. Therefore the total number of voting rights in Healthcare Locums plc is now 104,667,601.  

The above figure of 104,667,601 may be used by shareholders in the Company as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change in their interest in, the share capital of the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
