DIRECTOR'S DEALING

Pennington, NJ - September 24, 2009 -- Ocean Power Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: OPTT and London Stock Exchange AIM: OPT) ('OPT' or the 'Company') announces that on September 22, 2009 it received notification that J. Victor Chatigny, a director of the Company, made several open market purchases, on September 22, 2009, of OPT's common stock, totalling 10,000 shares at prices ranging from US$4.75 per share to US$4.79 per share. 

Following these transactions, Mr. Chatigny owns 10,000 shares of OPT's Common Stock, representing approximately 0.10% of the shares in issue.
