Microgen plc (the "Company")

Notification of Transactions of Directors, Persons Discharging Managerial
Responsibility ("PDMR") or Connected Persons

In accordance with DR 3.1.4R (1) (a), the Company announces that on 10
September 2009 the Company's PDMR, Elizabeth Sipiere, exercised options over
67,085 Ordinary Shares at 5 pence per share under the Microgen Performance
Share Plan 2006 representing 0.08% of the issued share capital of the Company.
The shares were registered in the name of Elizabeth Sipiere.

The Company was subsequently notified on 11 September that Mrs Sipiere had sold
67,085 Ordinary Shares at 75 pence per share on 11 September 2009 representing
0.08% of the issued share capital of the Company.

Following these transactions, Mrs Sipiere's total shareholding in the Company
is zero.
