McBride PLC ('the Company') announces that on 10 September 2009, it purchased through Investec 84,570 of its ordinary shares at 170.34p per share. The Company intends to hold these shares in treasury.

Following the purchase of these shares, McBride plc holds 836,589 ordinary shares in treasury and has a total of 180,203,712 ordinary shares (excluding treasury shares) in issue.
