NORTHERN VENTURE TRUST PLC ("The Company")

DIVIDEND DECLARATION

The Company announces that the directors have declared a second
interim dividend for the year ending 30 September 2009 of 4.5p per
share in respect of the Company's ordinary shares and 2.0p per share
in respect of the Company's C shares.  The dividends will be paid on
29 September 2009 to shareholders on the register on 18 September
2009, taking the total interim dividends paid for the year ending 30
September 2009 to 7.5p per ordinary share and 3.0p per C share.  It
is the directors' current intention that no final dividend will be
proposed in respect of the ordinary shares or the C shares for the
year ending 30 September 2009.

In accordance with the Company's articles of association, it is
intended that the C shares will be converted into ordinary shares on
29 October 2009.  The number of new ordinary shares to be issued on
conversion will be determined by reference to the respective net
asset values per share attributable to the ordinary shares and the C
shares as at 30 September 2009.
