Orders for videoconferencing systems for German Armed Forces

SCOTTY is pleased to announce that it has received purchase orders worth approximately 700,000 Euros for videoconferencing equipment for the German Armed Forces, for delivery in September and October 2009.

The equipment to be supplied is for three distinct specialised applications:

1.    'Rollabout' videoconferencing systems for German Army conference room installations.

2.    Multipoint videoconferencing equipment for German Army mission control centres.

3.    Systems to be located on German Navy vessels, to enable remote telemedicine support for ships' crews.

 

The 'rollabout' and multipoint systems are enhanced variations of SCOTTY's existing video and data communications technology which have been specifically developed to target new segments within the military communications market. These further demonstrate the Company's ability to develop existing technology for new applications in a short timescale.

The German Navy systems represent a continuation of SCOTTY's ongoing maritime satellite communications and videoconferencing business.

The systems covered by these orders include complete set-ups integrated by SCOTTY to various levels of TEMPEST specification and a number of different encryption devices.

SCOTTY's Chief Executive Officer, Kurt Kerschat, commented:

'These orders are significant in nature, in that they demonstrate further extensions of SCOTTY's proven data and video communication skills for new applications. They also provide further examples of our ability to adapt our technology to provide customised solutions, often to TEMPEST specifications, in a very short space of time.

'The 'rollabout' and multipoint systems orders are in both cases the initial orders for these new applications, and we believe that both applications have significant potential for follow-on orders in the future, from the German Armed Forces as well as from other customers.'
