Announcement on Approval of the Proposal on Adjustment of the Plan of Closure of Generating Units Nos. 1 - 6 of Taizhou Power Plant

A resolution in relation to the proposal on adjustment of the plan of closure of generating units Nos. 1-6 of Taizhou Power Plant was approved on the Fifth Meeting of the Fifth Session of the Board of Directors of Zhejiang Southeast Electric Power Company Limited (the 'Company') on 19 August 2009(for details, please refer to announcement on the Board resolutions dated 21 August 2009). Pursuant to the Approval from Zhejiang Economic and Information Commission in relation to the closure of six 135MW generating units of Taizhou Power Plant (Zhe Jing Xin Dian Li [2009] No. 253), the six 135MW generating units of Taizhou Power Plant will be closed in two phases. For phase I, the operations of the generating units Nos. 2-5 will be stopped on 31 August 2009 and will also be splitted from the grid, and the closure and removal of these four units will officially start on 2 September 2009; for phase II, generating units No.1 and No.6 will be closed and removed by the end of 2010.
