zamano PLC (AIM:ZMNO, IEX:ZAZ), a leading provider of interactive applications and services to mobile devices, today announces that Rod Matthews has stepped down from the Board effective 1 September 2009 to pursue other interests, and that John Michael Watson ('Mike') has been appointed as Chairman.
Mike has been a Non-Executive Director of zamano since September 2006. He previously held the positions of Director of Marketing and Technical for ICL/Fujitsu, Managing Director of BICC Technologies and more recently CEO of Tertio. He brings to the role of Chairman significant experience of AIM listed businesses, as well as deep knowledge of the sector and zamano's markets.
John O'Shea, CEO of zamano, commented: 'The Board would like to thank Rod for his tremendous contribution to zamano for over six years. Rod provided strategic direction which allowed the Group to grow substantially and profitably during his tenure, and guided its successful AIM and IEX introductions.
