In accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rules ('DTR'), Solomon Gold plc (the 'Company') was informed on 21 August 2009 by Barclays PLC that, in fulfilment of its obligations under Rule 5 of the DTR, on 18 August 2009, Barclays PLC held (through Barclays Stockbrokers Ltd) 8,533,922 ordinary shares of 1 penny each in the capital of the Company, representing approximately 10.05 per cent of the Company's issued share capital.

The Company currently has 84,941,504 shares on issue.

This represents an increase of 730,493 shares over the previous Holdings notification published by the Company in respect of Barclays on 5 August 2009.
