Malaysian Governmental Departments implement
RCG control and security systems
RCG Holdings Limited (AIM:RCG, HKSE:802), an international provider of biometric and RFID products and solution services with a primary focus in the Asia Pacific markets, is pleased to announce that it has won a contract to supply control and security systems to the Malaysian National Registration Department, the Malaysian Department of Environment and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
RCG delivered its latest biometric access security system, K8, to the Malaysian National Registration Department, a governmental body responsible for the registration, maintenance and storage of identity records of all Malaysian citizens, including births, deaths, adoptions, identity cards, marriages, divorces and citizenship status. K8, RCG's multimodal biometric and RFID security system, replaced the conventional single card system for the high security areas which process the citizens' data. The implementation was completed earlier this year and after few months of a successful initial implementation in the department, RCG is now in an advanced stage of negotiation for a project extension with more device installations.
In July 2009, RCG also delivered its advanced biometric access control solutions to the Department of Environment which is responsible for the regulation of environmental-related issues including air quality, noise, water, pollution, hazardous substances and environmental impact assessments across Malaysia. RCG was commissioned to install its fingerprint access control devices, i4 Flexi and Attendance and Time Management System (ATiMS), to manage employee attendance and access control to the department building located in the Malaysian Federal Government Administrative Centre. The system successfully replaced the existing conventional card access control system and brought automation and reduced backend administration in managing the employee attendance and access control data.
Commenting on the project wins, Dato' Lee Boon Han, Deputy CEO of RCG Holdings Limited, said: 'We are extremely pleased with the implementation of RCG's access control and security systems to these government bodies. The fact that the Malaysian government awarded these high security governmental projects to us is testament to our cutting edge, reliable and high quality systems. We are looking forward to continuing winning new contracts to provide our systems to equally high caliber organisations.'
