BBA Aviation plc - Trading Update

BBA Aviation plc, the aviation services and systems support group, today issues a trading update ahead of its results for the six months ended 30 June 2009, which will be announced on 6 August 2009.

The Group delivered a strong performance relative to our market for the first six months of the year despite the challenging environment and overall was in line with our expectations. Conditions in our key markets have been relatively stable since the Interim Management Statement issued on 30 April 2009 and trading has been solid, assisted by our proactive management of the cost base.  

The focus on reducing debt continues to yield results with strong free cash flow in excess of £50m anticipated for the first half of the year.

Although we are still experiencing short term volatility in certain of our markets, we expect to continue to outperform during the second half of the year. We will continue to manage our businesses proactively to deliver a robust performance and our continued focus on cash generation and debt reduction will position us well to benefit from a recovery when it comes.
