Suspension of trading in shares

London 10 July 2009; On 23 June 2009 Cambrian announced that its shareholders had approved the proposal for the acquisition by Western Canadian Coal Corp. ('Western') of the whole of the issued and to be issued ordinary share capital of Cambrian other than the share of Cambrian held by Western and the Treasury Shares to be implemented by way of scheme of arrangement under section 899 of the Companies Act 2006 (the 'Scheme').

The shares in Cambrian have been suspended from trading today pending the High Court’s decision to sanction the Scheme.
