NORTHERN VENTURE TRUST PLC ("The Company")

CORRECTION:  ISSUE OF EQUITY AND TOTAL VOTING RIGHTS

The announcement headed 'Issue of equity and total voting rights'
released by the Company on 26 June 2009 erroneously referred to the
allotment of '260,496' ordinary shares on the first line whereas the
correct number of shares allotted was '240,946'.  For clarity, the
full text of the amended announcement is set out below:


ISSUE OF EQUITY AND TOTAL VOTING RIGHTS

The Company  announces  that on  26  June 2009  it  allotted  240,946
ordinary shares of 25p each  to shareholders who agreed to  subscribe
for shares  under  the terms  of  the Company's  Dividend  Investment
Scheme.  The subscription price was  73.2p per share.  Following  the
above allotment, there are 40,170,808 ordinary shares in issue.

Application will be made at the earliest practicable opportunity  for
these shares,  which  will rank  pari  passu with  existing  ordinary
shares, to  be  admitted to  the  Official  List of  the  UK  Listing
Authority and to trading  on the London  Stock Exchange's market  for
listed securities.

In conformity with the  Transparency Directive, the Company  notifies
the market that  the capital  of the Company  consists of  40,170,808
ordinary shares with  a nominal value  of 25p each  and 20,612,249  C
shares with a nominal value of 75p each.  All the shares have  voting
rights.

The Company  does  not  hold  any ordinary  shares  or  C  shares  in
treasury.

Therefore, the  total  number of  voting  rights in  the  Company  is
60,783,057 (the "Figure").

The Figure  may be  used by  a  shareholder or  other person  as  the
denominator for the calculations by which he will determine if he  is
required to notify  the voting  rights he  holds in  relation to  the
Company, or  a  change  to  those  voting  rights,  under  the  FSA's
Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
