London, 1 July 2009 - The Company was notified on 1 July 2009, that on that date Oliver Baring, Executive Chairman of Mwana Africa PLC, purchased 150,000 ordinary shares at a price of 5.9p per share. These shares were acquired by Oliver Baring's pension fund. Following this transaction, Oliver Baring's total beneficial interest in the Company increased to 1,332,976 shares.
