AGM Statement
Strong First Half Trading Expected
Intelligent Environments Group plc (AIM Ticker: IEN), the online software provider for financial services, is holding its Annual General Meeting today at which the Chairman, Clive Richards, will make the following statement:-
'In our annual results announcement for 2008, I stated that we entered 2009 positively as a result of our market leading V4 product offering and the buoyant market conditions in retail savings. I am pleased to report that trading in the current year to date has been robust with the financial services sector increasingly using the Internet as a medium to secure new clients and service both these and existing accounts.
As a result, we have experienced strong demand from new and existing customers to launch platforms to attract and retain retail deposits online. I am delighted that Stroud and Swindon Building Society have chosen us for such a project. This takes to 3 the number of customers using our NetFinance4 savings platform.
The other key market that is experiencing strong growth is consumer finance, where financial institutions are accelerating the move away from paper based statements to online account servicing and E-statements. Due to this increasing trend, a number of our existing customers have placed significant orders to expand their market offering and I am delighted that a major store card provider has chosen our NetFinance4 cards platform for their move into Internet self servicing.
Our strategy to develop a long term recurring revenue base has been very successful to date with customers increasingly signing up to a transactional based revenue model and this gives me confidence that 2009 will be another year of sustainable progress.'
