Appointment of CFO
GEONG International Limited (AIM: GNG), the AIM listed China based provider of
enterprise content management (ECM) software and solutions, is pleased to
announce the appointment of Amit Navinchandra Thakar as Chief Financial Officer
and Company Secretary with effect from 1st June 2009. Based in GEONG's Beijing
office, Amit will be relocating from the UK to Beijing in July 2009.
Amit is a qualified Management Accountant with an MBA in Finance from City
University London and is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of
Management Accountants. In his role as CFO, Amit will oversee all financial
aspects of the Company, reporting to CEO Wang Weidong and the Board of GEONG.
Amit, aged 54, has over 14 years experience working in the City of London. From
April 2004 until November 2008 he was a Director of Research at Seymour Pierce,
where he focused on small and special situation stocks. Prior to joining
Seymour Piece, Amit was Head of Research for Deutsche Bank equities where he
covered the conglomerate sector, and before this he worked as a Strategist for
four years with SG Securities for Asia, both based in Singapore. Prior to
working in Singapore, Amit was a Research Accountant at ABN Amro Hoare Govett
for 6 years, focusing on thematic accounting issues for the UK market.
Before joining the City, Amit spent more than 9 years as a Management
Accountant at several companies including Albany Life, Davies & Newman,
Shearson Lehman and Deutsche Bank Capital Markets. He also lectured candidates
studying for the CFA exam in Singapore.
