Fire Incident on board MT Arcturus

Yujin International Ltd, the owner and charterer of a fleet of small range tankers operating in the Asia Pacific region, reports that it has received a fire incident report from one of its six ships, MT Arcturus ('Arcturus'). It has been confirmed already that there were no casualties or pollution to the environment and Arcturus has today been moved and has arrived at Kaohsiung Harbour in Taiwan. The inspection team will board Arcturus immediately to determine the cause of the fire and to carry out damage and repairs assessment. The authorities and insurers have been informed and a further announcement will be made in due course.

Yujin's operational control HQ has commended the Ship Master for his fast responses to controlling the fire. His ability to act quickly and to adhere to company's health, safety, and environmental procedures has meant that there were no crew casualties or pollution to the environment.
