Patsystems Announces Connectivity to Bursa Malaysia

Singapore: 12 May 2009 - Patsystems, the trading solutions provider to the derivatives industry, is pleased to announce that it now offers connectivity to Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Berhad, the futures and options segment of Bursa Malaysia

Bursa Malaysia is one of the largest bourses in Asia with just under 1,000 listed companies offering a wide range of investment choices to the global marketplace.

Customers of Patsystems will now be able to trade Malaysian flagship products electronically, most notably the Malaysian Crude Palm Oil futures. Additional products include Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) futures as well as 3-Year, 5-Year, and 10-Year Malaysian Government Securities Futures.

Omar Merican, Chief Operating Officer, Bursa Malaysia, said:

'We introduced Direct Market Access (DMA) for derivatives in 2008 and this has enabled the derivatives market to move into an automated order routing mode which is in line with Bursa Malaysia's aim of increasing our accessibility and efficiency. The implementation of Patsystems will certainly enhance our competitive edge in the derivatives market.'

Barry White, Regional Director of Asia Pacific, Patsystems, said:

'Patsystems has seen unprecedented growth in Asia Pacific and, as a result, we are increasing our Asian exchange connectivity. Bursa Malaysia is one of the most sought-after markets in the region with its Crude Palm Oil futures and Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) products. We anticipate significant demand for access to Bursa Malaysia from both regional and international participants.'
