Directorate Changes

Sovereign Oilfield Group Plc (AIM: SOGP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Chris McGeehan, as Group Chief Operating Officer, with immediate effect.

Mr. McGeehan, aged 47, joined Sovereign in 2005 on the acquisition of Caledonian Petroleum Services Limited ('CPS') which he joined in 1993. Prior to joining CPS, Chris worked in a variety of roles in the fabrication industry. Since 2007 he has been Chief Operating Officer of Sovereign Fabrication Services, the Group's Holding company for its seven fabrication businesses, where he was charged with optimising these businesses performance and systems, developing synergies between the businesses to reduce overall cost and so they can combine to service larger contracts, and developing the business in the Middle East.

In addition, the Company announces today that Mr. Graham Burgess has been appointed as Executive Chairman with immediate effect. 

Mr. Geoffrey Stuart Pearson, who has been Acting Chairman, will continue as a Non Executive Director.

Commenting on the appointment of Mr. McGeehan, Graham Burgess said, 'We are delighted to welcome Mr. McGeehan to the Board and are confident that he will continue to make a growing contribution to the development of the Company.'
