Yujin renews term charter contracts
Yujin International Ltd, the owner and charterer of a fleet of small range tankers operating in the Asia Pacific region, is pleased to announce that it has renewed the term charter contracts for three of its bunker ships for a further two years.
The renewed charter rate in aggregate is marginally higher than the existing rate. Captain Liew Chin Chye, joint Managing Director of Yujin, commented as follows: 'We are fortunate that ship arrivals and bunker sales in the port of Singapore remain at a fairly high level despite the downturn in the industry. This, we believe, allowed us to renew the term charters of our three bunker tankers, MT Ruby Star, MT Ruby Express and MT Reliance at rates which we are very pleased with'.
MT Ruby Star, MT Ruby Express and MT Reliance are three of the four bunker ships currently owned by Yujin and are licensed to operate in the port limits of Singapore. The new rates will take effect as soon as each of the current term charters expires. Following these renewals, MT Reliance will be on charter contract until the end of April 2011, MT Ruby Express until 29th May 2011 and MT Ruby Star until 30th May 2011. Yujin’s fourth bunker ship, MT Gallant, remains on term charter until the 4th of August 2009 and a renewal will be negotiated nearer to to the expiry date.
