The Capital Pub Company PLC (the 'Company') was informed on 27 March that a pension fund of Clive Watson, a director of the Company, had, on 27 March 2009, purchased 52,631 ordinary shares of 50p each at 47p per share.

Following this share purchase, Clive Watson and his pension fund hold 1,660,889 Ordinary Shares representing 8.3 per cent. of the Company's total voting rights.
